Combine butter, shortening, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
Beat for 1 minute. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl. Mix again
Add eggs, corn syrup, vanilla, and almond. Mix
In a separate bowl , add flour, boking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add in flour mixture to butter and sugar mixture. Mix until blended but don't over blend.
Split dough into two portion. Wrap in clear wrap and chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
When ready to roll out dough, clean and flour your surface or use parchment paper.
Heat oven to 370 F
Roll dough to between 1/4-1/2 inch thick.
Cut-out cookies. And place on baking sheet. Cook for 6-7 minutes.
Cookies should be barely browned around the edges. Cool for 1-2 minutes, before moving to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Frost and decorate!
Store cookies in a air tight container or in a resealable plastic bag.
