Lay out butter to soften
Preheat oven to 325.
Pour all the pie ingredients into pan. Stir.
Press out pie dough into pie pan and set aside, unbaked.
Mix together the flour, sugar, and brown sugar in a bowl.
Crack eggs into mixing bowl and beat. Add in flour and sugar mixture.
Add softened butter and mix thoroughly.
Add vanilla and mix.
Chop walnuts and measure out chocolate chip. Stir by hand into dough.
Dough will be thick. Pour out into pie crust. Smooth with spatula.
Place pie in oven at 325 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
After 10 minutes, place pie crust shield on pie to protect the crust.
After 50 minutes, check the pie. Place a sheet of aluminum foil lightly over pie to prevent over browning.
Pie is done when still slightly soft in the middle, but firm around the edges. Pie will continue cooking after removed from oven.
