Best Family Pecan Pie Recipe

Pecans, butter, and light corn syrup come together to create a rich caramel pecan filling in this perfect holiday or special occasion pie.

Equipment

  • 1 pie pan 9 inch pan

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 9 inch pie crust uncooked

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Attach whisk attachment to KitchenAid mixer if using stand mixer.
  • Melt 1/3 cup of butter. Set aside to allow to cool for a minute.
  • Add 3 eggs and 2/3 sugar to mixing bowl. Mix.
  • Pour in melted butter, salt, and light corn syrup into mixing bowl. Whisk together.
  • Chop 1 cup of pecans. Hand mix pecans into pecan pie mixture.
  • Pour pecan pie mixture into prepared pie crust.
  • Place pecan pie into preheat oven
  • After 10 minutes, place a pie shield on pie crust edges.
  • Check pie after 40 minutes. If pie is still very jiggly in middle cover with aluminum foil to avoid the pie becoming overly brown.
  • Cook for another 10 minutes or until still slightly jiggly in the middle but set. Don't overcook pie.
  • Allow pie to cool on wire wrack before cutting.
