Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Attach whisk attachment to KitchenAid mixer if using stand mixer.
Melt 1/3 cup of butter. Set aside to allow to cool for a minute.
Add 3 eggs and 2/3 sugar to mixing bowl. Mix.
Pour in melted butter, salt, and light corn syrup into mixing bowl. Whisk together.
Chop 1 cup of pecans. Hand mix pecans into pecan pie mixture.
Pour pecan pie mixture into prepared pie crust.
Place pecan pie into preheat oven
After 10 minutes, place a pie shield on pie crust edges.
Check pie after 40 minutes. If pie is still very jiggly in middle cover with aluminum foil to avoid the pie becoming overly brown.
Cook for another 10 minutes or until still slightly jiggly in the middle but set. Don't overcook pie.
Allow pie to cool on wire wrack before cutting.
